This class incorporates yoga and mindfulness practices that will provide students with some inquiry of how to deal with the on-going pressures of being a pre-teenager. Connections between body, mind and emotions will be encouraged so that more calmness and joy can be experienced during these challenging times. Some benefits of the yoga classes are for students to learn how to: build confidence, enhance healthy social interaction, strengthen immune system, self-regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, relax their bodies and of course, have fun!
Marie Zappala-Stewart is a former public school teacher of 33yrs. She combines her love of practicing yoga and teaching, having acquired her 200 hr. yoga alliance certification, 95 hr. children’s yoga certification and various ChildLight Yoga certifications. Most recently, Marie became certified for Tweens and Teens Instruction.
